MLM Taxation

You will not believe it but also in MLM business you will have to pay tax. The tax lows are different in every country but there are a few similar aspects all around the world.

In this article we will try to give you some tools that you will be able to use in order to lower your taxes as much as you legally can, but you must remember that this article can not replace a good accountant that knows all the special tips that are special for an MLM business.

Like you will do in any other business you must keep track on all the income and expenses that you have made along the year and the best way to do it is to be very tidy and very organized that you will know any minute what are the results of your business. Another possibility is to acquire some kind of accountant software or tax software that you will update on a regular basis and you will be able to organize all of your results or even use an accountant witch will do every thing for you and he will keep track for you.

All of the above is very nice but even if you will be very organize you must have an idea what expenses you can and can not deduct in order to do your taxes here are some sort of expenses that if you will do them properly you could use them to lower your taxes:

  • Office expenses – in most of the MLM business you will not rent an office but you will use your home or a part of it as your office. In this case some of your home expenses can be used as deductible expenses that can save you tax money for example: electricity, municipality taxes, home improvement and even some of the grocery you buy.
  • Auto expenses – as long as you use your car for your business, and we all do, you can deduct some of your fuel expenses, insurance, auto repairs etc’.
  • Inventory – in most of the MLM business you must by products in order to be entitled for the monthly bonus, this purchases can be used as a deductible expense as long you don’t do a private use of those products.
  • Health insurance – in some cases you will be able use your payments to your own health insurance as a deductible expense.
  • Hiring help – if you hire a person to help you do your business it can be also deductible even if it is your children, neighbors or even your children's nanny.
  • Retirement – one of the most misunderstood area is the retirement plans, the government encourage you to save money for your retirement so they give you tax deduction if you save for this day.
  • Buying furniture PC etc’ – if you but any equipment or furniture that you intend to use in your business you can deduct the expense from your income.

This is a small part of the uses that you will have with all the expenses that you are normally doing anyhow if you had a small MLM business. When starting a new MLM business you must have a wide view of all the money that you can save in addition to your earnings so you must have a plan for the business that the tax issue must be a part of the overall view of your business.
